  • Meet the new Hon Sec.................

What sort of nutter having done the allotment Secretaries job before VOLUNTEERS to do it again to save the Allotment Association from extinction!

You guessed it, the right honerable Snadge!

The previous Secretary handed in their notice forthwith and the council have said that if a committee, including Chairman,Secretary and Treasurer couldn't be found, they would dissolve the allotments and take them back (probably for redevelopement.)

The forty plots have only been their 75 years.............so we couldn't let that happen, could we.

New external notice board at the gate, fill vacant plots and get the rat man down are my first priorities.

Well done you though, for stepping up to the plate. I think you'll keep every one in order.

Well done Snadger. Saving some heritage for future generations. Why not get a local newspaper to do a small piece on local allotments and the council might have to start providing more.

                    I don't understand why we haven't SS?

When I left as Secretary a couple of years ago the waiting list was standing at 25..........now we're down to two, and two spare plots.

PS Anyone in the Newcastle area who fancies a plot, please PM me your details and I'll add you to the waiting list. (Hope this is ok with you mods?)
