It measures 80 feet by 20 feet.

How long will it take me to fill this space plus the growing space we have at home?

That's about half the size of my lottie I have that space already planted out.
        I have 2 Onion beds (400 + sets )
        5 rows Carrots
        3 rows beetroot
        10 rows potatoes(90) plants
        1 row radishes
        2 rows parsnips.
        1 row fennel
        1 parsley
2 rows broad beans (over wintered)
As you can see there is no problem filling the space you have janeyo.
When I plant out the stuff in my green house I will be struggling for space.
I have nearly 400 leeks for a start.

No but my sister & BIL live in a place called Bryn Crug near Tywyn.

They have over a acre & a half of ground & have a small holders licence.

They have kept or keep Chickens,Ducks, sheep & pigs + they have their own allotment there too.

            Ps I just like leeks.

PPs both sister & BIL are Welsh speakers & sister teaches at a school in Tywyn

What, on their own, with a little butter and black pepper. Mixed in with sausagemeat, or mashed potato.

Actually I could go on all day, I love leeks.

Wrapped in ham & done with a cheese sauce.

In a recent thread they were cooked with ginger........now that sounds interesting?
Bit of a boring b stad meself......I like traditional leek pudding that sticks to your ribs cooked in a piece of ripped up bed sheet with lashings of double strength oxo gravy on it!
Me and the missus have at least two leek puddings a week, but the offspring just look at us in horror and won't partake. Their loss methinks!

PS Sorry for hijacking thread and well done Janeyo.

I think more people should do this. I certainly did it before I got my allotments. Many a person with a large garden they can't manage would be glad to let someone use it!

Some friends of mine just up the road have done a similar thing Janeyo. They only have a small garden, and 2 kids so only a small veggie plot. They have borrowed a similar size to what you have borrowed from some other friends who currently are working away from home.
Great idea, great use of unused space, and loads more stuff to eat.
