  • Marmite chocolate?

    Just read this....

Love it or hate it? This chocolate bar is set to divide the public.

The Very Peculiar Milk Chocolate Bar contains a hint of the sticky yeast-based spread Marmite.

Marmite lovers will be able to buy the chocolate for £3 from October 4 at department stores including BHS, Debenhams and Robert Dyas, and online at the Marmite website.

The product is part of the brand's Christmas gift range, which includes a cheese board, teapot and toast rack.

Hmmmm, not quite sure about this one, but willing to have a go!!!!
Imagination is everything, it is a preview of what is to become.

I'm a devoted marmite lover - but this is a bit scary methinks! HayWayne has tried it and lives to tell the tale

Salty chocolate - yum. We get chocolate covered salted crisps from Florida when we visit the Mr Z's brother.......

Love Marmite, but not keen on chocolate, so it's not a combination I'll be trying.

Love Marmite, and like chocolate too (the dark stuff, not milky) but as the others have said I'm not sure about them together.

Strangely chocolate coated pretzels are lovely though..!!!
And I am sure I have read that if you add some salt to a chocolate recipe, it brings out the flavour....

I use to say yuk yuk yuk about salted popcorn, but now I like it better than the sweet stuff.

we could all have a sort of pre-taste,put a bit of both into mouth and let the flavour develop, then either get more or spit it out, saves wasting £3 just to try,at least it gives you some little indication,

I'm another one of the 'like Marmite, like chocolate, not sure about them together' brigade!
Chocolate & chilli taste nice together though so it might be worth a try.

I have tried Vegemite, which to me tastes pretty much of Marmite-plus-sugar, and I find it horrible. I can't say I fancy the idea of salty chocolate either. Some combinations just don't work (I wonder whether the person who thought of this one had been watching early episodes of "The Vicar of Dibley"?)
