  • Manure for garden.

Is there anyone who knows where I can get some well rotted manure in West Yorkshire either free or costing? I`ve been reading the comments on planting potatoes and got some the other day. Someone I spoke to when buying told me of potato they liked called `Annabel` but couldn`t find it this time-said they were nice. I didn`t do so well with the containers even tho` I followed all the instructions. The handful I did in the garden were better.

Yes, spuds do better in the ground

You need to phone round some stables - although horse muck isn't essential, I've never used it in 15 years of allotmenting

Go and ask at your local lotties, people are usually happy to tell you where you can get a load delivered from, aslong as you ask nicely.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

Have you tried Freecycle? I put a request on there last year for spare seeds, top soil etc and met this guy who supplied us both as well as a load of plants and mushroom compost. Just ask if anyone has any manure available or know where you can get some from - it's amazing what else you can end up getting too )
