It's been a crazy year all round. It wouldn't surprise me if we get an Indian Summer.

Thanks Nicos - you've really cheered me up (not). We haven't had any summer weather here yet (apart from a week in March) so I hope Bigmallly is right and we get an Indian Summer.

Yes, well I'm only getting to enjoy not having snakes around, so I'm not filled with joy at the thought of the days getting longer either. I do enjoy winter for the joy of not really having to watch where you walk

The weekend wasn't too bad. Had a pretty nice day in Brighton on Saturday, then spent all day yesterday at the plot with Bean. Raining when I'm at the office isn't so bad...

I do hope we get a nice long spell soon though - of warm weather that is.

Unless some miracle occurs I don't think we'll be very self-sufficient in the veg dept this year......

                              Not here either bins.
Our peas have been 95% munched by voles, 80% of our beans have had their growing tips munched , 80% of our still unripe strawberries have been nipped off and stored in piles by mice/voles and 50 % of the beetroot have been got by slugs or something.
First sowing of radish totally failed too. Only about 60% of our spuds have poked through the soil- but they were planted very late.
No sign of a parsnip germinating under the fleece either.
HArdly any cherries on the tree- nor pears.

Strangely the shallots and leeks seem to be doing really well. Just goes to show the need to plant lots of different fruit and veg so at least something will succeed.

                              hmmm....
