  • Kids Break up today

Last day of school for 6 weeks for most kids today What plans do you have to keep them occupied. My daughter being thirteen doesnt need me so much this year ( she says ) We have two weeks holiday at the end of August might go away for the first week if its not raining too much, camping is no fun in the rain, second week we will be at the local regatta week on the beach, daughter has plans to row in a few races.
I intend to lie in most mornings but no doubt I will be awake before I need to be eg very early lol.
Got grandson staying 29th fo the night, beach if its nice lottie if its not too bad.
Other than that not a lot.

My son isn't 5 til Sunday and has done a year of school already. he is exhausted and has caught all manner of illnesses this last term. So the first week I am enforcing rest and play in the garden.

I have a list of friends to catch up with, a list of parties he has been invited too and a list of places to go. I think the time will fly!

My son broke up 2 weeks ago. He asked for us to stay home this year, apparently he just wants to enjoy his ps3 and pc inside and play football, cricket and tennis in the garden or play on the trampoline. He also wants to spend lots of quality time with his kittens. So far he has been good to his word.

Incy when does he go back to school !!!! ours is 3rd September. I have always loved the school holidays because I didnt have to rush around in the mornings lol I have always worked evenings / nights. For the last two years she has been big enough to take herself so I just get up have a coffee and wait for her to go out the door, then get ready for whatever I want to do. Holidays are a bit different now she is older, she doesnt always want to come with me but I feel I cant leave her for too long on her own, its not like she has a brother still at home, the boys have left home now. I try to find out what she wants to do and take it from there. I have a feeling I will be on my own from now on lol.

My children break up next wednesday, I'll be glad of a break from all the running round to clubs and activities!!
Here in Melksham we are very lucky, there are always plenty of free or cheep things to do.
We will do some camping in August if the weather is fair.

I totally agree on the morning thing. I work from home and on school days have to rush round to be out of the house by 8am to get him there on time. I love being able to have time to potter before I start working

                Long Hols...

....used to be a nightmare with four children.

Only the youngest two are still at school (15 & 12) and they broke up on the 3rd...they don't go back until September 14th but are old enough to amuse themselves.

We're hoping to get some camping in when we have a weekend off from the fairs.

Quite a full summer for me and my four (11, 9, 7 and 4). Eldest has Summer School next week, so me and the littlies will spend time in the garden and the local park (weather permitting). After that, the local Heritage Centre has some activities. Then we're off to France for two or three weeks. When we get back Granny and Grandad will be visiting. Busier than term time in lots of ways but hopefully lots of fun!
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

No I don't live in Swinton I'm in Levenshulme. I haven't done much research as my boy doesn't cope well with clubs and things as he gets very anxious if I leave him. His school does have 2 weeks of events which are accessible to all not just kids at that school but it might be a bit far from you as it's in Whalley Range. How old is your daughter?

You could try browsing Salford's leisure section as I believe it covers Eccles. There are often local schemes for primary age kids.
