Keep getting logged out - help!

    Keep getting logged out - help!

    It getting really annoying now. Sometimes when I come on here I have to log in with username and password and always mark the box titled - 'Remember Me' but then I get logged out. Most annoying when I am replying to a thread go to post it and then get told I don't have permission.

    Any ideas?

    throw a brick through the monitor??? .... well at least you won't notice then

    have you by any chance unticked the remember passwords box on the pc? you could try deleting your history,, and stored passwords etc. then making sure the save password box is ticked on the pc it should ask you if you want to save password again.

      I had real problems yesterday, couldn't get on internet for most of the day and when I did I kept getting chucked off again! Its already done it once this morning so might not be here for long

        Had a virus on our laptop about a week ago and in sorting that cancelled all the cookies etc which meant that I had to log in for the first time in ages. Wasn't a problem for this site as I knew my username but took me about an hour to remember my one on a genealogy site I use!

        Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

        Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

              I was logged out yesterday as well, but as i'm faffing with my anti virus programme i think it was that and cookies, i was also logged out of other forums i use. Almost sorted now.

              Something to do with cookies I think....ask an 8 year old to explain i'm too much of a plank. Sorry.


              Incidently i have also been eating chocolate chip cookies, perhaps it was them.

                Run whatever Spyware program you have, then your anti-virus one. Then check your internet security settings & make sure cookies are 'allowed'. If none of that works, I'm stumped! I don't think it's the 'Vine playing up though

                  if you use IE check the settings, if they are set to auto-clear cookies on shutdown, you need to set it to to remember cookies, although, to be honest you should clear these out regularly anyway as some are used to track your usage for adware and spyware.
                  setting it to remember passwords is also bad on a shared ( at work school etc) puter.
                  IE will should ask you each time though, so you can choose which ones to have remembered. Firefox does the same.

                      I keep getting the message: "this is a duplicate post of one you just made. you will be redirected to that post"

                        did you get impatient waiting (totally understandable!) for the darn thing to load? if you hit refresh it can throw toys out I've noticed

                          nope, it does it anyway, on one hit, a lot, i just sit and wait, it only ever puts one post in, but it does do the 'duplicate' message a lot.
