Whenever I give something (sadly, I haven't given anything to you!), I do it because it makes me feel warm inside, knowing I've helped someone. That's return enough for me. I wouldn't feel indebted, if I were you. There will come a time when others need your help and you'll give it willingly. That's what generosity is all about.

On a serious note - if anyone wants a bench I'm happy to make one. Providing you pick it up you can have it gratis. The pallets don't cost me anything, and I bought a tub of 250 screws for about �7, and they take about an hour and a half to build (maybe quicker now I have a template - the prototype was made on the hoof).

providing you don't want them in a hurry of course!

Sadly in todays world I sometimes wonder if people understand the concepts of grace and honour.

It is a good feeling to give things that you have a glut of or have no further need of and I have given a few things away on here but it has been marred a couple of times.

However I don't suppose that it will stop me from doing again, the majority of people on here are genuine folks.

I think the quotation is from Japan or China. It does have a sort of Confucian ring about it.
