  • A jolly good Autumn show

    Well,

Saturday was the Garden Society Autumn Show. I entered 28 classes but had to drop out of 9 at the last minute, but I walked away with:

4 x 1sts (Dahlias, Plum Jam, display of curcubits, Fruit Flan)
4 x 2nds (Bakewell Tart, Tea Bread, Parsnips, Onions)
7 x 3rds (Tray of 4 types of veg, Shallots, Floral Art entry, Specimin Dahlia, vase of garden flowers, grapes, Poigniant War photo)

and a mahoosive cup for 'Best Dahlias', which were 'Dandy mixed' grown from seed this year, and have flowered their socks off all summer, bless the little darlings .

I'll try and bung a photo on for you.

    I'm dead chuffed.

" Ceeeelebrate good times come on" all sing along.

      CONGRATULATION..P.B

Thanks guys, I left my Tea Bread in the staff canteen, and no ones touched it!! I'm going to have to put a notice on it, apparently it looks too fancy.

Excellent stuff - I admire anyone that puts stuff into shows - regardless of if they win or not. I'd love to do it, but never seem to have either the time or produce required.

            Good work lady, well done.

We popped in on Saturday. The show was excellent. We think we found most of your exhibits, and they were so good - that massive pile of pumpkin/squash!! We could not stay for the prizegiving so we were not sure if you were there or not. I did not realise the variety of classes involved in these shows and it was great to see so many people had contributed. We also loved the very pretty village.

Oh no!! I missed you, what a shame . We got there about 2.15, I was will my OH (Paul), my dad, and Paul's parents. we were sat over on the left hand side nearest the table with the photos and the model Anderson shelter. Glad you enjoyed it though. The trophy was a huge surprise!!

Our small show was on Saturday as well, mainly heaviest and longest sort of stuff. One of our plotholders had heaviest cabbage at 75lbs. Longest bean was only 22" which by competition standards isn't very long at all. Don't bother myself but I like to take an interest.
