Thread: I've bought a wood!
- 17-05-2012, 07:11 PM #1
I've bought a wood! I'm too excited to keep this to myself and I've been asked to go public by Flo

I've bought a 3 acre wood in West Wales, its something I've always wanted and finally its mine. Its ancient woodland, oak, ash, beech and sycamore with bluebells and wood anemones, a badger sett and streams and springs. Lots of space for me to play in!!
There are some photos here Giggling in my Wood!
Today was my first visit as owner and it felt so, so good!!!

No plans for it - just wait and see what grows and lives in it. Get some advice on coppicing and clear some of the sycamore saplings. Take my wellies next time and unblock the streams. Borrow my neighbour and his chain saw to clear a few fallen trees and turn them into logs for the fire. Build another bridge across the stream. Just playing really!

That's fab!!!!!!
Brill!!!!!
My Hobbits, who's Garden I help 'tend' on a Friday, have a wood of similar proportions. Such a lovely peaceful space.
I'm not jealous. Honest!
OK, I am green as heck!

Fantastic! We have an acre of garden into which we put some baby trees this week. A wood would be absolute bliss. It must be a brilliant feeling to be the guardian of something so wonderful
