  • I'm going to make miwyuns!

    I've had an idea.

Inspired by the responses to AL's thread about the numpty old geezer who's giving her grief (if he only knew the wrath of the vine), and a conversation I had in the office with two dudes talking about games consoles I've thought of something that combines the two.

With the Nintendo Wii and other games consoles now adopting a "get up and move about" style of gaming, how about something along the lines of "Allotment Wars" or "Garden Force - Compost, or be composted".

It could be used as educational - it can be used in all weathers (for those of us frustrated by the rain we've had recently), you could adapt the game with different modules, oh the possibilities.

One game could be purely educational - providing best practice and guidance. It could also just be out and out warfare, instead of guns you are armed with hosepipes and seed grenades.

Sabotaging other plots/gardens would therefore be only virtual fun and no plants would be harmed in the making of the game. Breed rabbits/squirrels/guionea pigs and unleash them on neighbouring plots.

It would allow you to do all the things you secretly think about doing, but would never do in real life.

    Help me, I've gawn mad.

That actually sounds like a fab idea Wayne. My son would love playing something like that although I suspect he would unleash things on my plot
(he's a little jealous of the attention I give the veg patch)

Having written a piece on fixings for the brick facades on the bridge abutments for the M62 link road I needed a little downtime.

It does sound like a fab idea! There's loads of lifestyle type games that are really popular and combining that with all out gardening war could be a winner!

Oooooh - you could have recipes on there too!

              Hope you've copyrighted this thread!

Another warfare idea...feed your enemies chooks with acorns...apparently turns the yolk green...I've always wanted to do it,but alas get on well with all our fellow chook keepers!

How about the following names for the game and its sequels

Harvest Wars as described By HayWayne

The Hen Wire Strikes back - sequel to the first one has the addition of chicken shed

Return of the Bonsai - having completed the veg plot and chicken house you can move on to house plants

The names of these stages have been thought up in my head, any similarities to Star Wars film titles is purely coincidental

                  See, it's got legs!

Maybe there's a whole series of games possible.

"Hobby Wars - Boring Just Got Interesting!"

                  Gardening
                  Chicken Keeping
                  Knitting
                  Needlepoint

                  I'm going to phone Nintendo...
