Default idea about a chitted potato swap?

i've been thinking as i dug my spuds about next years crop and how i need a few varieties (this is my first yr), but also aware that the spuds come in quite large bags for me as a single person.

so i wondered if there were others out there who grow just for them and would be interested in some kind of chitted spud swap.....each buy a different variety, bung a few in a small bag, with 'x' number of bags filling a sturdy showbox then sending off to the organiser(with return postage), who divvies out the spuds and sends back your shoebox full of 'x' number of varieties?. i know this makes sense to me cos i do this sort of swap in a craft forum i'm on, so hope it makes sense to you all!!.

curious to see what you all think, and what if any interest there might be in this?
thanks.

(p.s., i know there is a swap forum, but this is just to see if there is any interest before formally starting a thread there!).

I think it might work out quite pricey to send out spuds???? Last year I only wanted a few as I was only intending growing them in the garden - like you said most places only sell big bags - but I managed to find a local independant nursery that sold em individually. I paid less than £1 for 5 catriona potatoes which was all I had room for in the garden. Try asking on freecycle in a couple of months if anyone has any spare seed potatoes, you might get lucky
