  • Was I just unlucky?

Has anyone bought mushroom plugs from Marshalls?

They come in packs of 30.

I was bought Shitaki and Lion's Mane as a present.

Drilled the logs and started to put in the Shitaki first but there were only 29! Oh well it's one of those things really, it happens doesn't it!

OK now for the Lion's Mane but there were only 29 of these as well.

I emailed them from their web site, no reply, not even an acknowledgement.

So have any of you had these plugs from Marshalls?

Was I just unlucky or did you get mine?

I haven't had any dealings with them over mushrooms but I ordered their onion and shallot sets last year - the onions arrived and were planted (did brilliantly).

I forgot all about the shallots until I had a phone call from Marshalls saying that they were concerned I might be disappointed because they had been returned by the post office (apparently they had tried to deliver them, but hadn't left a card to say I had to collect - they'd sat in the parcel office for weeks)

Anyway, the chap at Marshalls offered a full refund without any prompting and has given me a code for discount off this year's order - I'll certainly be ordering again. Great customer service - so I'd give them a call if I were you!

Think you've been unlucky...I'd phone them- they've always been very helpful in the past for me if there have been any problems.

      ...by the way.....mine never grew!!!!!

Ring them up, you've got nothing to lose and a 'mushie' to gain!

To be truthful with you, I don't like the idea of phoning them, I would feel as if I was trying to get something from them, it would make me feel as if they were thinking "Oh yer someone trying to get a freebie"

By mailing them, I could just state the facts and let them know I felt let down.

            Irrational maybe but that's me.

When I phoned them, the lass was really kind.
I'd bought 12 strawberry plants and 7 had rotted in the first month. I'd pulled them up and bunged them on the compost and then after getting more and more annoyed, decided to phone them up.
She said if I could find them in the compost and return them they'd analyse them and replace them.
Needless to say I didn't fancy sifting through all the rotting smelly stuff and left it.
As it was the remaining plants grew incredibly well- and took over that part of the lottie ( thank goodness they hadn't all survived!!!)

So...I'd give them a ring if you feel fed up- they were very supportive- maybe a few got sent out short????

I'd not bother to be honest- but there's no harm in letting them know!
