  • I Have My Views But Would Be Interested In Others

    Good Morning Folks,

I read these 2 articles this morning and had various comments mulling round in my small brain. i'm not gonna share my thoughts but will share the articles

BBC News : Park duck feeding fine withdrawn

BBC NEWS | UK | M&S Christmas TV ad 'offensive'
    Cheers

Well, the first one. If it was me the park warden wouldn't have been able to give me a ticket as I wouldn't give them any details at all. If anyone wants personal details from me they'd better be a copper. She should have told them to p**s off. As far as I can tell there were no signs about not feeding ducks, so she'd done nothing wrong.

The second one. I've seen the ad and the mind just boggles at what people find offensive.

The bladdy world has gone mad - and all this political correctness is a load of chuff!

The people who have the time to sit and chuck a little bread about for the ducks will be doing no harm. The greedy beggars will eat it all long before ratty and co appear. It's good to see a young woman taking an interest, and entertaining/educating her son at the same time.

As for the bird in the lacy undies, if I had a figure like that (sadly, I don't) and someone was going to pay me to prance around, then why not!

As for Mr. Glennister, he's supposed to be 'in character' obviously. I sometimes wish the PC brigade would disappear up their own armholes!

IN MY OPINION But feel free to disagree!

I can "sort of" see the reasoning behind wanting to control feeding ducks. There used to be times in a park near us where the pond would be absolutely covered in bread...some broken up some just thrown in as a whole slice!...on those busy occasions the kiddies had to accept our loaf was going home for the chooks!Ducks can only eat so much and what's not eaten sinks to the bottom, moulds & pollutes the pond.
However!!!I think common sense should rule & if the ducks seem hungry, then feeding them bread is a great experience for kiddies that I don't think theyt should be denied...just a shame not all parents can also teach their kiddies the other lesson, that if the ponds already full of floating bread & the ducks aint eating it,chances are they won't be tempted by a different loaf!

The M&S add...must admit I've not seen the ad but my first thoughts are that peeps should lighten up a bit!

The duck thing is just plain silly.

I would get all feminist about women in their underwear but as there are still women in this world who are sold into marriage, trafficked across continents for the sex trade and subjected to practices unsuitable for a family forum I will try and concentrate on the things that actually matter.

My pet hate, why cant modern feminists sort out their priorities?

The duck thing is actually a problem with geese...

Mr Cooper said Canada Geese cause "major problems" in the park, adding: "Nearby residents complain they are noisy, dirty and aggressive. Feeding them only encourages them to congregate in the park. It also attracts vermin."

The council said it would not be pursuing payment of fines given to six other people for feeding wildfowl in the park and would not issue any new fines for bird feeding until new signs have been erected."

Birmingham Post - News - West Midlands News - Sandwell Council backs down over fine for feeding ducks

And the M&S thing is just plain silly.

M&S Add..Absolute tosh, its about time "some" people found something better to do with there time, than complaining about things that the biggest majority of the population take in the context as was meant to be taken...IN FUN. Don't these people have an OFF button on there T.V's

With regard to the feeding of the ducks, I've never been so disgusted....Fine's for a mum for showing her child how to be kind to animals, that's disgraceful.
