Default I feel lousy - is there a doctor in the house?

I started to develop a lump in my throat last night - no I wasnt watching a weepie! I think I have the same virus I had a few months ago as now it feels like I have swallowed a ping pong ball and its got stuck there. It is so painful to swallow so will have to dig out the disolvable paracetamol I was given last time. I cant even talk (so its going to be very quiet in my area today) and just ache all over. Arranged another Mum to take Hannah to school and gonna tuck myself up in front of telly - and here! Oliver thinks I should go to the doctors but they cant do anything so I think I will stay put. I just wonder if Daniel will be good today or if he will latch on that I cant tell him off!

Hope you all feeling well today.

Tammy

I would head to the doctor - it might be tonsillitis in which case a dose of antibiotics will help. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Seem to be feeling worse and worse so had been thinking the same thing.

Got an appointment (in the village too!) for 11am.

Just want to be well - boo hoo

At least Oliver staying over tonight (in Wakefield 3-4 hours away) although he had offered to cancel and come home. I said no as I am sure I will sleep better without worrying I am keeping him awake - dont know how he slept at all last night.

Got Joe round today with the idea he was to strim the bank of the weeds, with me directing him away afrom anything "cultivated" Yeh right - he cant hear me at the best of times! Gonna just bite the bullet and let him get on with it!

Tammy

You may be a bit rundown if you've got a recurring illness. It may help to get your self a tonic. My OH was a bit sickly early on in the year and we got a tonic full of vits and iron from the health food shop. It did him the world of good. I can't remember what it was called but it was organic.

Look after yourself, and get better soon. Hope the Doc can help.

Gargling with aspirin can relieve a sore throat. Mind you so would a tub of Ben and Jerrys. I know which one tastes better!
Get thee self off to Drs, and rest, rest, rest!
Get well soon xxx

I agree - get yourself off to the docs and take the medicine...and sleep as much as you can to let yourself recoup.

I thought Tracey said orgasmic there; must be these glasses!

Thought it sounded like tonsils. Did the doc give you some antibiotics? If so, start with a double dose to get them into your system. Will prolly be tomorrow before they start to kick in. Take it easy and get plenty rest and drink lots of water. Hope you are feeling better quickly. Maybe the little one will cuddle up with you.

Tammy, go to bed & rest or at least snuggle up on the sofa. How old is Daniel, can you get someone else to mind him for a few hours, if not try propping him in front of one of those children's T.V. channels on T.V., it won't hurt for a few hours!

ouch! Thats painful, poor you. Yes pop Daniel in front of the telly while you rest, I'm sure he won't mind. Seriously try the aspirin thing, it does work.

Right......now, I am the resident Tonsilitis expert (see my miserable ramblings when I had it a couple of weeks ago!!)

I've had it 3 times now since beginning of March so I really do feel for you

The best thing I found for pain relief was to drink Beechams powders, they really were the only thing to stop the pain for me and other than that rest.
I had to have an extra weeks anti-biotics last time as it didn't clear up after the intial 7day dose....so if you're throat is even slightly sore when you finish this course get yourself back to the Drs for more drugs!!!

You'll probably start to feel a bit better by day 3...... so take it easy till then and get the beechams!!!!

I get it whenever I am run down; its the first thing it hits.

Get to bed, drink plenty of fluids, take the drugs and go back for more if it isn't gone at end of the course. i also used to use soluble aspirin to help the sore throat; then took the huge painkillers the doc used to give me [i couldn't get them down unless I took the aspirin to help the throat].

Basically, what everyone else said.

Oh Tammy, how painful and how miserable. Take good care, stay snuggled up and get lots of rest. No doubt Daniel will appreciate the quiet, and love the extra tv.

Get better soon honey

Thank you so much for making sure I went to docs yesterday - I still feel so ill and know if I wasnt taking the penicillin I would be in a very sorry state.

My brother in law (who lives 1/2 week in Enfield and 1/2 week in Rushden - long story) rang to say yes he would pop in for dinner. When he heard me or rather not heard me! he said he wouldnt have dinner but would come and put kids to bed. He then waited till Oliver came home and helped him feed bunnies and water what needed watering. When the friends mum heard what I had she offered to take Hannah to hers after tea and is doing the same today. Oliver said he would give me extra money so Daniel could go to playschool today as well as tomorrow and my friend has just taken him and will bring him home later. So you can see I am really being looked after.

Now question - sorry if too yucky this time in the morning. My breath stinks - the doctor said there was a lot of pus on the right hand side of my mouth - Is that why? Will the penicillin sort it or is there anything else I can do? I was (sound disgusting) letting myself dribble into tisshues all day yesterday to avoid having to swallow as it was soooo painful but in the end was gaging cos of the mucus. Yuk - seriously wondering if I should remove this paragraph - nah you are all big enough to take it!

Am going to hang around for a bit to see what you lot have to say but then bath and bed - its so quiet here - dont get that often. Now what can I manage for breakfast - thinking of pureeing some grapefruit. Only had 1/2 tin soup last night nothing else all day so at least I should be losing some weight!

Tammy
