Depends on the programme. Simpsons (channel 4) is usually watched between 15 and 20 (has to be a multiple of 5) but some programmes need to be on 50 before you can hear them clearly. I have excellent hearing and cringe if the guys turn the box up too loud for me. Grab some cotton wool and bung it in your ears to ease the noise

15?! Mine would be booming out at that volume. Its usually around 6-8. Depends on the programme though. If its something like the news then 8 does just fine. Sometimes I have to put it up to 11-12 when trying to listen to actors who are 'whispering' other times I have to turn it right down to 3-4 if there is some explosions or shouting going on.

Or just leave them to it....and do something a little more exciting.

I'm always saying "can you hear that?" as Mr TS has it as loud as his dad used to, ie you can hear it from outside the house.

I hate it on loud, normally have it about 7ish but each TV is different and ours is different volumes when on normal TV or on cable. OH always turns it up and it makes my head hurt.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I adjust the sound to each progam.. the only thing i watch live on ITV is football as the advert breaks are too long and far too loud. So i record to my hard drive dvd recorder and once a progam has been on for 15 mins i watch it on catch up and fast forward the adverts. Works a treat.
It is sound volume on the wife that needs turning down... lol

It varies when the adverts come on it seems to go louder.
If there is a music concert of some kind I can put the sound through the Hi-Fi (60 watts per channel 4 speakers ) then it can be LOUD

About 8 ish. Before we put in the T-loop system the TV was at max (40). I used to feel the shock waves off the stupid TV. Luckily we lived in a detached bungalow, so no neighbours to annoy.

15 on ours is about an 1/8th of the way up. I suggested subtitles to OH and he says "they wouldnt go for it" Tough is my thinking but its his family and we all know the lengths people go to for their families.
