  • How the Earth Made Us

    Did anyone else watch this?

For those who don't know what it is:
Iain Stewart tells the epic story of how the planet has shaped our history. With spectacular images, surprising stories and a compelling narrative, the series discovers the central role played in human history by four different planetary forces.

    Episode 1: Deep Earth.

There wasn't a single thing he told us about that I didn't find completely fascinating, and every place he visited I instantly thought, "I definately have to go there!"

Fantastic series. Episode 2 is all about water. Can't wait.

EDIT: Anyone who missed it and wants to catch it; it's on the iPlayer: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...Us_Deep_Earth/

We enjoyed it - both geology graduates so it was right up our street. I found a bit of the photography unnecessarily 'whizzy' but the content was fascinating.

I've taped it, but wasn't in a hurry to watch it.
After your review, I'll be watching it tonight x

We watched it, it was a beautiful, fascinating, awe inspiring, interesting film. We loved it so much we watched it again the following night on catch up tv! The crystal cave was mind blowing.
I am so looking forward to the next episode.

                              Episode II: Water.

Not quite as thrilling as Episode I, but still pretty fascinating. I love the way he fuses Geography, Geology and History.

I thought the Cambodians' rubber tree bridge was amazing!
