I know, my OH was away for four nights last week and I was terrible, I bought pizza from the supermarket instead of cooking proper food, and even resorted to doing the ironing to stop me climbing the walls. I thought I'd quite enjoy the peace, but it was awful. hats off to you Piskie!!

Working in science, I've worked alongside lots of people whose husbands/boyfriends, wives/girlfriends are in other countries, sometimes for years. I honestly don't know how they do it. I've been known to come home early when visiting relatives, as I miss my OH too much!

She's quiet today, so I guess they cope by making up for lost time, lol!

Himself is relaxing in front of the TV whilst I'm upstairs in the office working - he needs chill time.

How do we cope? We have no choice, it is painful in the extreme. When they leave for deployment, the first couple of weeks are disorientating, then you go through a kind of grief, the sort where your tummy hurts so much - then life takes over and you have a pile of Grapes to help you get through it all

He should (fingers crossed) be safe from deployment for approx 12 months - then off we go again!
