  • The House that Di built!

Well....It took me several hours longer to build than I'd vouched for.....didn't finish 'till 2:30 a.m Christmas morning!...also being Christmas Eve I couldn't go totally without a few glasses of merriness,so a few wobbly windows!!But overall was pretty chuffed with the results.(Andi's mum's birthday is Christmas day & she always gets forgotten on the cake front,so wanted to make something a little special...she collects Lilliput Lane cottages)

Wow Di, that's fantastic - I'm sooo impressed.

I'll bet your Mum was suitably impressed too. Really well done you.

Cheers Scarey...wasn't til I got to the back bit that the alcohol really kicked in,hence the rather canny non-close~up!.....I'd already decided on a bunch of flowers for next year...until I found out it'll be her 70th!!Looks like another Christmas Eve similar to this one afterall!

What a lovely cake. I dont get a birthday cake and have just stuck candles in the christmas cake as no one eats it but me.

Fanks!....I selected the photos that didn't highlight the wobbly windows....although,as Andi said, all old rustic houses have wonky windows!!
Kirsty,Go for the gingerbread house....although I'll warn you it gets pretty addictive!...I'm already itchy about the next one....far beats doing the housework....just a shame the mess it leaves in the kitchen!
Pleased you liked the cobweb Snadger......looking at some of the other pics on that file...could've been worse!!

                            Well done you! That's lovely.

I made a Land Rover cake for OH years ago, but it was nowhere near as good as that - it's a shame to eat it.

                            Keep up the good work.

Di, that's marvellous! You're so clever! You have single-handedly inspired me to make a cake for our little baby girl's first Birthday in January. I'm going to get a magical fairytale castle cake mould and try my bestest to do something nice!

If it's a total disaster, then she'll only be one and won't notice! Hurrah!
