  • Heritage Bean Sweepstake - sorry it's bean won!

    Evening all

    This is a sweepstake.

I have depodded tonight's beans and, after seeing some interest in Heritage Beans, have decided to
    a - photograph the beans
    b - count the beans

The closest person to the correct number of beans in the photo; wins a selection of Climbing and Dwarf/Bush Beans, as per the photo. 5 beans of each type shown.

Varieties include Cherokee Trail of Tears, Cosse Violette, Dapple Grey, Monastic Coco, Ruth Bible, Cannelini, Pinto, my new Pinto variety, and some lovely random red soup beans from a soup mix bought in Dean and DeLuca's in Soho Manhattan back in April.

The sweepstake is available to cast votes on until the end of September.

The beans are in a plastic container previously used to house Cauldron Vegetarian Sausages, if that helps in the calculations.

I'd love these to go to someone who likes beans, and can give them a good home, grow them next year and pass some on once they have collected batches of lovely shelled beans, which are lovely in winter soups and stews.

                    324 is my guess.

Don't they look beautiful when gathered together like that? Like smooth shiny sea washed beach pebbles.
It is the doom of man, that they forget.
