Goodness......It seems like I am going to need a goodly sized box of tissues.
Whenever I hear/see things like this I want to rush home and check my girls. It's all such a worry.
Still....they looked well and beautiful on Saturday when I fed them! lots buzzing around, all very busy collecting nectar from the ivy that grows near by. clever little bees!
      I love my bees!
Thanks HW for that I shall watch and record.

        Thanks for the notice, HW.

I've set it to record here too. You might want to add to your post that it is repeated at 1235hrs on Wednesday too (that's half past midnight tonight to avoid any confusion) as it doesn't say so on the page you linked... that little nugget of info only shows up if you dig a bit deeper through the "more" link.

No doubt someone will only see your post after it's been on so that might help a few people catch it on the second showing (of course, there's More4 +1 on satellite too).

As for the show, it's "through the eyes of" three keepers, who by the sounds of it, are the sort who truck their bees all over the country which may bring about a certain amount of "no wonder they are suffering losses!" thoughts... though that probably depends on your view of the argument that industrial beekeeping is a large part of the problem.

I'm looking forwards to it - despite the fact I don't have a hive of my own I really do like the sharp-bottomed little beggars (and the honey they produce) and will be starting a top bar hive as soon as I've got the space!

I've never met you, but you remind me of the lady on the Grow Your Own film.

Did not get to see program last night we have it recorded I hope. From the trailer if seems as if its mainly about people who ship their bees around.....must admit I don't much like their sometimes brutal way with the bees but I will try and put that aside and watch 'open minded'
Sadly one or two of mine do get squished and it upsets me greatly (I hate it in fact) but I try to take a great deal of care. I need to check their food supplies tonight. Evenings getting dark now so I must be quick!
