  • Have You Ever Started Something.......

    ....... and wished you hadnt
My front room curtains have been driving me mad, so today I decided they had to come down and be repaired. They are big curtains ( bay window ).

Got the sewing machine out and can I work the blooming thing can I heck. I cant work out how to thread it, how stupid am I.
Why does one job lead to another.

So decided to clean the woodwork, took down the net curtains, put them in the wash, just about managed to open the secondry glazing. Cleaned the frames, as well as behind the radiator, skirting boards, dado rail, hoovered etc etc why oh why did I start.
I have to go to work tonight so have stopped but there is still the rest of the room to clean. I am now sat in a goldfish bowl as no curtains at the window. I will have to wait till OH gets home to sort out sewing machine but wont be able to sew them and put them back up till tomorrow.
In the meantime OH rang and said we need to either get a new rail or sort out the broken one.

I never mastered threading a sewing machine eigther! Sewing in general is definately not my forte. When I was at school I sewed the apron I was making to my skirt without realising it!
Never mind Jackie, this too will pass......

My old sewing machine died a while back and I bought a new one. Only used it a few times, and last time I decided to use it I couldn't remember how to thread it. Luckily, even though I couldn't find the destructions, there are little diagrams on the machine itself.

Last year we started making Christmas Door Rings and Pomanders for the village - using village greenery. We sell them for our Britain in Bloom group and the village church as members from each take part in making them. Last year we did 60 Rings and 3 Pomanders. This year it's jumped to 75 and 10! Have you ever started something....?
Still got 2 pomanders and 2 Rings to make. We started last Saturday!

Nearly every job I do I regret starting hahahaha. My sewing machine took me ages to work out, still only worked out part of it hehe. Mind you saying that a while ago I sat down to use it and had completely forgotten how to thread the bobbin. I woke up in the middle of the night I remembered how to do it.

Ha ha lovely comments from all of you. I left it to OH to thread when he got home, I had taken the cotton through the eye at the top before the springy bit, if that makes sense. I have always been able to use a machine, just had brain faze yesterday.
I have now repaired the curtain and put them back up. they could do with being replaced, but as the inlaws bought them and paid over £300 for them ( 10 years ago ) I darent suggest new ones.
Thanks for trying to help me.
