Received a call from a number you don't recognise? Can't be bothered to call them back and find out who they are?

Seems to happen to a lot of Germans/Austrians on there too!
I never call anyone back unless I recognise the number but most of the 'iffy' ones don't leave a number, you get 'number withheld' or 'we do not have the caller's number'.
I always put the phone down if an automated voice starts to speak when I answer but funnily enough the other day I got a call from the BT SMS delivery service & thought 'What's this, I'll listen'. It was my O.H. who'd sent a text to the house number by mistake instead of my mobile & you get a posh automated BT lady reading it out to you, quite funny as O.H. was describing somebody well known who was on the train opposite him as a 'fat b*stard eating a full English' & she read that out!

We used to play the 'see what you can get the posh lady to say" game by sending texts to the landline.

It's rock n roll in our house I can tell you!

        You are off...the...hook!

Funnily enough, despite having the same mobile number for the last 10+ years, I don't get any dodgey calls or texts on it.
I used to on the landline, but I only used it when I had a local misses as the calls were so much cheaper, now it's all mobile (it is 2010 after all - next stop...flying cars!)

I've just used this website Wayne. I got a call yesterday from a number which when I checked 1471 afterwards was eleven zeros! I checked on that site & this is used by all sorts of scammers a couple of which were the same as the one I had - someone claiming to be from Microsoft about error messages my computer was sending (NOT!), total load of rubbish but someone might get caught out by it.
