  • Hampton Court - Winner

Our nephew has just built a garden at Hampton Court which has won a Gold Medal and also the Best Conceptual Garden Prize. It's called The Pansy Project and it's about fighting homophobic hate-crime by planting pansies - get it? - at the scene of homophobic attacks.

Our nephew has a gay brother and two gay cousins, one of whom is our daughter.

We're absolutely thrilled for him of course and the rest of his team but what a great way to highlight hate crime, with plants/flowers.

The link to the main project is here: The Pansy Project - Home

And the RHS link is here:

    Hope the links work!

Wow! That's a wonderful idea. Congratulations to him not just on the idea but on the gold medal. Anyone can have an idea but havinag the ability to carry it out too, that's worth a medal!

A stunning concept fabulously executed. Well done that man!
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

Just seen it on the Gardeners' World programme which is featuring the concept gardens. They didn't say much about it but it spoke for itself - it was stunning!

I know I said I was giving up watching the programme but I switched on because it was about the gardens.
