Just been to Tesco to get a couple of things and had a quick look at the mags. I got my GYO through the post last week with the free beetroot seeds, but the magazines in Tesco had free gardening gloves as well as the seeds. Is this available in all the shops, or is it a Tesco thing? Also, why do the mags sold in the shops get the gloves as well as the seeds, when the loyal subscribers only get the seeds?

It's probably a Tesco Promotion. This often happens with magazines, in order to boost sales the supermarkets do their own free gift, it's a minor disadvantage to having a subscription. As the giveaways are often of poor quality I personally don't mind -
i got the mag in tesco and got the seeds and the gloves, they were in the same packaging so not just added by tesco as an extra i think, the gloves are great though! always good for collecting the snails and slugs at night!!!

When my nephew used to pack magazines, he sometimes had different additions depending on where the magazines was due to be sold, so it is possible the freebies were packed together, just for Tesco.I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

The gloves were a Tesco only promotion, they also did a promotion with Kitchen G Magazine.
