  • great way to source bottles!

I need loads of proper bottles for the vat of wine I am producing. Normally we only buy cheapish wine with screw caps and I find them really tricky to re-use.
This morning it's recycle day... So I have filled my pushchair with proper wine bottless salvaged from people's boxes, on the way home form dropping toddlie off at pre-school.

Is this legal? I did get some funny looks, although this could be cos I was pushing an empty pushchair lol

I got 6 today, must be some posh people round her buying proper wine lol. I could have got more but didn't want to trespass on people's drives, I just took them from the roadside.

Judging from the responses to the left over wine thread, all you need to do is knock on Piskie's or Hans Mum's or my door - we'll have a few empties for you!!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Janeyo sometimes you find boxes of empty bottle next to bottle banks (local recycle, Tesco etc) where there wasn't room to get them in. Happens mainly at Christmas/New Year though when most of us seem to go through a lot of bottles!

Great idea! Though very few people bother to recycle around here (that really grinds my gears).

Something I read elsewhere (possibly on the juicy gossip forum) - some people leave a box and a note by the big glass recycling units asking people to ditch suitable bottles into their box.

Might be worth popping into any local restaurants and bars and asking if they can put a few empties by for you.

So far I have not needed to resort to any of the above and I made a lot of wine last year - oops
Excuse me, could we have an eel? You've got eels down your leg.

Reminds me a bit of the woman who had a quarter bottle of Brandy taken from the top of her shopping bag. She was on the way to the Doc's with a urine specimin at the time!
Wine bottles are too big for that though................aren't they!!!!!!!!
