  • Got some swine's 'flu....

Was ok this morning, had a banging headache wich I blamed on the weather. It's very muggy here.

This afternoon I developed a temperature, sore throat with croaky voice, and I ache like never before.

Can't believe I could feel so bad so quickly.

Oh no. Check on the NHS website chuck. If your temperature is over 100.4 then you've probably got it. A chap at work went down with it just as quickly. Ring your doctor and get a friend to get you the tablets.
    Hope you feel better soon.

If u have it, Jules, and I hope not, take the tablets, give in to it and do nothing. Do not fight it. My wife struggled against a bout of flu 22 years ago, came down with M. E. and still suffers now.

Feeling bleuurrghhh. I've got the tamiflu stuff but threw up soon after taking it, which hasn't helped.

Feel like a real wimp to be honest. I'm never usually ill.

Been out to check my chooks this morning and give them some bread. I was so knackered afterwards I came in and nodded off.

So sorry Jules, does sounds like it, it does come on quick and I can't believe how ill and weak I felt, however I'm here at the other end of it, day 4 and feeling MUCH better.
Rest (really do coz you'll be too knackered to do anything), keep sipping the water if you can't manage anything else, paracetamol and ibuprofen(if you can take it) for the aches, pains and fever, and if prescribed take your Tamiflu!

Hope you feel better soon. xxx

cross posted with you there Jules!
Think it's usually only the 1st or 2nd dose that can make you chuck hun - poor you.
Try to take it with some food if you can manage.
I felt like a wimp too coz I don't really do ill, but I had to succumb to it and rest cause I was getting muddled and confused!
                    Please just rest yourself!

Muddled & confused are Tamiflu side effects.....hard to spot the difference with me though.

                      Apparently self-harm is also a side effect....jings!

I'm on my last lot of Tamiflu today, feeling lots better but was still woken with a dry throat and cough last night.

Comes on quick but also clears a lot quicker than any flu I've had in the past.

A good long soak in an Epsom Salts bath is good for an achy body and then into a warm bed for sleep.

It's going to take it course, so don't fight it.

                          Quite impressed....

                          ....with this tamiflu stuff.

I've only had one dose, which made me vomit an hour or so after taking it. Since taking it at about 8.30 this morning I have steadily started to feel better. I'm still hot, so have spent most of my day in the garden with the chookies, but I'm not half as achey as I was and the runny nose has gone completely. Still have a sore throat though and ocassional dizziness if I stand up too quickly.

Overall, for me, it's done a good job I think. No appetite but I am drinking lots. OH bought me thick chocolate milk which coats the sore throat nicely, if only for a few minutes.

Dottie and JUles, glad to hear you are improving.
I decided to take the tamiflu also.
I think it has really helped, I have been very surprised at how quickly I have recovered.
I felt so ill on Sunday night I told OH he had to check I was still alive on Mon morning before he went to work - he thought this was hilarious and has told EVERYONE!!!!
Just a bit of nausea now and subsequent loss of appetite and feel a bit tired.
