He would have been 77 on Wednesday as well. This is a sad lose to the sporting world and to boxing. He was always a Gentleman and very well respected...one of the old school, the likes of which I don't think we'll have the pleasure of seeing again.
God Bless and R.I.P Sr Henry Cooper.

A good boxer limited slightly by his size against true heavyweights, but a proper sporting gentlemen.
He was a good supporter of boxing at all levels, and I had the pleasure of being in his company more than once as he presented prizes at army boxing evenings.
A true gentlemen, and a man of principal too, he stopped commentating on boxing (and therefore lost sizeable revenue) because he didnt like the razzamatazz of the modern boxers as they came into the ring.

RIP Sir Enery, a real loss.

As well as being a fabulous sportsman, he was also a great anti racism campaigner and a co-founder of the Anti Nazi League.

                  RIP
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

One of the few sportsmen I had "true" respect for.
A man who didn't let his "success" go to his head.
