    Hi

Summer must be here, I went to the allotment tonight, doing some weeding and my head was itching like mad.
I rubbed it and it seemed worse, but it did only last a few minutes.
I was bitten a few times last year, that lead to large swellings, but that was whilst wearing shorts. Perhaps if I wore a hat, or sprayed myself with strong deodorant.

I know, im already getting fed up of bugs. There are far too many. I guess it depends on what bug it is thats biting you. If im going out and i know the bugs are about i sometimes put lavender on. Alot of bugs dont appreciate the smell. So i guess you could plant some at your lottie. But other than thae just use normal insect repellant.

I get bitten all the time. Eating lots of garlic doesn't seem to help either.

One of the best insect repellants is white vinegar, wiped on your skin. The smell goes after a few mins, so you won't smell like a chip van.

We use a sun screen called Parasol, designed for Irish skins (OH is a red head who gets sunburnt if you send him a postcard) it also contains an insect repellant - we can sit quite happily by a midge infested pond fishing all day without getting bitten or burnt! It's not cheap, but worth every penny in my book.

I use Avon's SSS moisturising bath oil stuff (the green one). It wasn't designed to be an insect repellent, but does the job so well that it's becoming widely used for that purpose. I have friends who use it on their horses.

I get eaten alive, and this is the only product that works for me.

Come here and meet my friends midgies
As for marmite-if it's based on yeast then it must contain some vitamin B(don't know which one).Vitamin B is a bug repellant but eaten in pills gives your skin, sweat and wee characteristic smell that bugs don't like.
