  • going to the new forest

    Hi,
any grapes live near/in the new forest or anyone had any experience of holidays there?
Hubby and I have booked a short break(with the xmas pressie from big sis) to this B & B
Bed, Breakfast, quality, b and b, quiet, secluded, guest houses, hotels, accommodation, new forest, Dibden, Hythe, Southampton, Hampshire, UK, Dale Farm House . Just wondered if anybody knew the area and could give us some good ideas of where to visit/eat etc...?
Can't wait it's our first 'proper' holiday since our honeymoon 4 years ago, will be soooo nice to have someone else do the cooking!!!

    thanks grapes

We went down the New Forest a couple of years ago, spent most of the time going on walks in the forest and doing a load of foraging (it was autumn so excellent for mushrooms). We spent a lovely day in Salisbury too as well as going back in time over to the IoW.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

We spent a fortnihght there when the children were young. To be honest, the forest itself is so enchanting we didn't go far. We are used to conifer plantations but broad leafed woodland is something special. Daughter spent the whole time listening to Enya tapes on her walkman while looking for elves! (She was in her teens too - too much imagination!)
Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

Yep I live nearby - although I dont know that particular B&B. I can recommend Sway art centre in the New Forest, Lyndhurst is pretty although does get very busy. Of course Southampton for the docks and shopping () I have stayed in Burley which is very nice for walking. Hope that helps
