  • going away, forgetful Hubby, what should i do?

I am going away for the weekend with MIL and SIL, my OH is extremely forgetful, and will no doubt forget to close up my placcy greenhouses at night, should i risk leaving them open for the weekend? I can call him to remind him but really don't want to be doing that. Weather here for the weekend is warm but overcast with chance of rain. I will give everything a good watering and feed before i leave tomorrow. Most stuff is in flower or budding so really don't want to loose any due to overheating ( especially my last remaining cuke! )

Been leaving my glass greenhouse open at night for the last couple of weeks. I don't close it at all in summer. You should be ok.

Same here. Was leaving door and window open full time but now the squirrels have decided to dig in my beds and pots at night

I leave mine open all day, all night too depending how the weather feels. I made a mesh door for mine though, to stop the local moggies getting in. Just a wooden frame with chicken mesh, works a treat, keeps the bad guys out but still lets the bees in.

You could always stick a net curtain over the window

Sounds exactly like the item my OH has promised to make for me

Yup, both of mine are open overnight now, as long as temps aren't going to drop below 10c they are just fine. Much better than overheating during the day

I left home on 5th July, and left the door and window open. Wont be closed again now till end of September time or maybe even later.
