Default Freebies free?????

Like a lot of grapes I am always looking for a bargain, and always troll the gardening mags for freebies. However freebies are not always as free as would first appear. I sent for a free sample of potato tubers a month ago without thinking about the actual cost. They arrived today and it was only then that with postage I had actually paid 60p per tuber. Rather expensive potatoes. GYO was offering a free tayberry (which I did resist) with postage of around £5 and I know My local Garden Center has them for about the same price and I can pick and choose which plant I want. Any one else been caught out by the potential freebie.

I agree, when you count the postage and packing the freebies are not always good value. Unless I want a specific variety I usually buy locally.
