  • Flu Jab

I decided to get my annual flu jab today which includes the swine flu strain. I was just wondering if you are for or against the jab. Do you just take a chance & let it run its' course? If I didn't work in a high risk environment, I'm not sure I would bother.

Every time i had the flu jab i got a stinking cold the lasted for a few months, then i made a huge discovery...
What do the do before giving you a jab?
They wipe your arm with Alcohol..
Why? To kill of bugs and germs..
So..... I refused the last jab and and went home and took the alcohol by mouth.. and good scotch it was too.. never had a problem since....
    e,r touch wood...

I have one every year because I used to smoke. So now I get bad bronchitis if I catch even a cold these days - and flu is a big no-no for me.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

I've had it every year for the past 10 years or so. The company I used to work for had a nurse come in for a day to provide it to those who wanted it, so I took advantage. I haven't had it this year, as I haven't got round it it, so we shall see how I get on.

I've had it every year since I was diagnosed diabetic, which is about 20 years.

The first time I had it no one warned me I might have a reaction and I flew overseas on business the next day. The next 10 days or so I was getting up, going to work and feeling like death warmed up all day, coming back to the hotel and going to bed.

Fortunately since then the worst reaction I've had is my upper arm aching for a day or two.

Mr Frosty gets it as he is in a high risk group. Never had any side effects - touch wood. Mr Frosty also gets the pneumonia jab every fives years - no side effects. I have been offered it but never took it up as I used to really hate needles. If I was offered it tomorrow I would take it.

I have had it for the past 15 or more years I get a slight bruise on the arm. I also get my son vaccinated as he has mild asthma. I recommend having it, flu can be a killer.

Unless I was high risk I wouldn't even consider it. Have had flu once in my life and it was absolutely terrible but am not concerned.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I get one every year as I'm asthmatic. I used to get ill every winter, but I sail through with no problems now. The first time I had the jab a few years ago I was very ill for about two days but I haven't had any adverse reaction since.

If someone actually made the offer, I might consider it. If I have to make the first move, I won't be bothering. I'm just lazy!

Our flu jabs were yesterday (including the swine one) but I decided to give mine a miss. I have never had flu and very very rarely catch a cold either. "famous last words" I hear. I am touching wood though.

We can have the jabs at work, but I haven't had them. Luckily up to now I have not had flu for years. I'll touch the same piece of wood Bren!
