Just managed to get home during a deluge, been raining all morning and we are getting it bad at the moment.
Was bad all day yesterday, relentless rain. Luckily our sloping street wont flood.

The garden is like trying the walk on a wet sponge at the moment.

Hope all you grapes over towards the West and wales area are ok.

Best of luck to the Welsh grapes - I hear it's been bad over there. It's hardly stopped raining for 24 hours here and when it finally did - it started again shortly after. I nipped to my lottie in the lull and got soaked in the dash back home.

What a summer! What? A summer?

It's swimming trunks ahoy around here again - I'm constantly grateful that we live on a hill, but it took me an hour to get to the butcher this morning via the long way round and having been in the shop all of 20 minutes the journey back was even worse - that was how quickly the waters were rising.

I really feel sorry for those people who've just got back in their homes after last summer

I've been looking at all that stuff on the news and my heart goes out to all those affected. Even to have your garden saturated is bad enough but to have your house flooded must be just awful. Hope all the Grapes have escaped the worst - I know some people got their lotties flooded last year.
Just been a bit dull and windy here - but no rain.

I've been watching the news as well and it made me think too - just what you said, Alice, I've spent this rainy summer complaining about the garden getting saturated, but thankfully that's all that happened and now it doesn't seem bad, compared to people in those flood areas.

I know there's nothing we can do, just to let them know our thoughts are with them.
