Just thought perhaps someone might be interested yo know that our river has flooded overnight - posting a photo from yesterday and one taken this morning - couldnt post earlier as our electricity has been off most of the morning...quite windy here .....the one on the right was yesterday - you can see all of the lock -one on the left today completely submerged -so far my plot has not flooded but its inches away! luckily theres an embankment (disused railway) between our house and the river!!!!

I've been wondering how everyone is in the South. We have been hearing some terrible stories about the winds. hope you keep safe and don't have too much time sans electricity.

                Yikes!
Was thinking about you last night!
Is that supposed to be the worst of it over now??

Fingers crossed the level doesn't rise anymore though.

In our nearest small town , the river has breached it's banks- but nothing like yours!

Has there been any damage to the roof of the house or anything?
Take care- we're thinking about you xx

the elec went off again over dinner, but stayed on so we could watch the footie (unfortunately we lost).....roof is leaking and builder says he will look at it once its stopped raining! Christophe has taken his digger away....maybe he will be back on Monday! The river is going down, its stopped raining, the wind has dropped, we are fine and the plot didnt flood....water stopped short (probably because of all the cut down tree branches and brambles)
and we have a brand new shower room which has bought the house into the 21st century..............................so all is well................

Hope the floods don't affect anyone. I drove past some allotments yesterday in Leigh (Surrey) and they were all underwater. The people using them must be devastated. They were all maintained plots, so a lot of work would have gone into them.
