  • Flat Hunting with Son no 3

I have spent all day flat hunting with one of my son's. Its very hot and sunny and we have been driving around in circles looking at them.
Some are just gross how dare some people chage such a huge amount for something so small and dirty One flat we looked at you couldnt make up.
Lots of work being done to whole building ( tick )
Flat in the process of being decorated ( tick )
    New carpets ( tick )
    Kitchen ( tick )
Bathroom very big and bright ( tick )
    Looking good so far.
Decorators dog in and out of flat ( x )
Dog sick on new carpet ( x )
Go out into huge jungle garden ( so sad )
Three people sitting on bench ( looked like dropouts ) sorry
Then to top it all the police turn up looking for someone that has beaten someone up very badly.

Cost to rent very small two rooms very small kitchen and a bathroom £400 a month EXCLUDING council tax AND water rates.

Ouch! I remember Madmax trying to find a house to rent in Reading - similar troubles but bigger bills.

Good luck, the ideal place will come along eventually
    Happy Gardening,

He found one lovely views can see for miles on the third floor 2 rooms plus bathroom and kitchen needs a lick of paint. A bargain at £346 a month. Most places around here are £500 plus for a very small place.

Property is just expensive - whether you're buying or renting.
Keep looking Jackie, the right property is there but sometimes it takes a bit of searching for. Sounds as if he may have found the right place.

I know what you mean about some people - they put property on the market in a dirty and run down condition and expect someone to pay good money for it. When my daughter was looking to buy her first flat we went viewing with her. I couldn't believe some of what I saw - dirty dishes in the sink, beds not made, dirty bathrooms. I couldn't bear to show anybody round a place in a state like that but they didn't seem to be embarrassed. After a lot of searching she did find a lovely flat in her price range.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

He hasnt got long to look as his relationship has broken up and he had to move out of the flat cos he couldnt afford the rent on his own £625 a month for a small two bed flat longe / kitchen two beds and bathroom. He moved into his eldest brother and girlfriends house, they have a dog and are about to get a puppy, and my grandson stays every week, in a two bedroom house again small, kitchen, lounge, two bedrooms and bathroom £750 a month ( no bills included ) .
He has decided to go for the one with the views it was one of the best we saw. Each flat that were any good had something about each one that was good pity it wasnt all in one flat.
One place the agent wouldnt even take us to see cos she wouldnt put a dog in it let alone a person but somehow she is expected to rent it out.
