  • Fewer Grapevine Visits.

As the title hints at, I won't be able to visit the 'Grapevine' as often as I'd like for a few weeks. Phoebe (five month old Basset Hound) has chewed through the power cable of the laptop. Have tried mending it but something seems to have shorted out in the transformer, so it is completely dead.

Can log on by using one of the computers in the study but it's not the same as having the laptop on downstairs and popping in and out whenever the fancy takes me.

The laptop is a few years old now so I don't suppose I'll be able to buy a replacement power cable. Probably have to get a new laptop unless I can scrounge one up from somewhere. Eldest son is always upgrading, I'll see if he's got a spare.
It is the doom of man, that they forget.

You gotta love your hound at times like that. Lucky she didnt get a whack as well though, to look on the bright side.
Squeeze the son, something will come up soon enough I'm sure.
In the mean time relax and enjoy the festive season.

We had a Jack Russell Terrier that used to chew through cables, long ago before home computers were invented. The answer was to make sure you left something else for him to chew when you went out; doggy chews, biscuits, bones etc.

snuffer - get down maplins - they do a couple of universal laptop chargers for about £30-£40 - make sure you write down the voltage etc, should be listed on the underside of the laptop, or take the laptop in there and the'll sort it out for you

Phoebe just wanted more attention from you Snuffer so she thought she'd get rid of her rival - the laptop!
