Default feedback needed on this idea!

on the grapvine there should be a forum topic on bonsai as it dosn't really fall into any other topic. i think it is more like a art form so what do you think? do we need a seperate topic or not?

For anyone that was interested it may make it easier to find, but as Bonsai are not strictly something thats fruit or veg related it may not be completely appropriate for this forum. Sorry Soobeth, I know you are really enthusiastic about Bonsai, but its not something that really interests me, I tried it many moons ago, but had no success so gave it up. Hope you have better success and manage to grow as many as you want! Who knows, a few years time and we may all be reading your book about Bonsai growing!

Soobeth

sorry, I agree with Mrs D - I come onto this site to look at fruit & veg growing. Maybe there is a specialist bonsai site you could chat to people on?

Hi Soobeth,

I did a quick Google, and found a few forums about bonsai, dont know if you've been to or tried any of these, but they may be worth a look!

http://forum.bonsaitalk.com/
http://www.bonsaigarden.net/
http://forums.bonsaisite.com/index.php?act=idx
http://www.bonsaiempire.com/html/bonsai_empire_eng.html
http://www.knowledgeofbonsai.org/shohin/collecting.php
http://www.westcoastbonsai.com/

Other possible useful links
http://www.thebonsaigarden.com/links.php?lang=EN
http://dmoz.org/Home/Gardening/Bonsa...uiseki/Bonsai/

I dont know if any of them will be what you are looking for, but it may be worth a look for some info and possibly some other Bonsai enthusiasts, but dont forget to post on here too, as we'd miss you if you werent around!!

Bonsai is not a 'Grow Your Own' related subject so it will not be given a board on the forum.

I applaud your enthusiasm soobeth and you are a valued member of the 'Vine' but I agee with the others on this one I'm afraid!

I would still like to read about your exploits in the world of bonsai, but surely you could post it in the general Chit-chat section?

Belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I have to agree as well I'm afraid Soobeth but for different reasons. Bonsai is quite an exacting art and you really need specialised advice.

Whilst most of us could advise on looking after a "plant in a pot" the areas where you will need more knowledge than is on here are root pruning, Wiring, Jinning etc and that is beyondthe scope of most veg growers.

But don't let that put you off, I would be suprised if there wasn't a Bonsai club in your local area somewhere & I'm sure they would be only too pleased to offer you help & advice as with most things these days the younger enthusiasts like yourself are just not there to be found so you are the future of the hobby so it's in their interest to help you.
