Could any of the French speakers tell me the correct translation for feather edge or ship lap planks of wood.

Further to my last, just spoke to a chippy chappy here, and, apparently, you cant get ship lap here. I wouldnt hold that as gospel, as I have heard you cant get all sorts here and have found it. A mate of mine is a menusier, will ring him tomorrow and explain, if I can get a picture of the stuff.Bob Leponge

Sorry Solitare, Never seen it and I LOVE rummaging round builders yards. I use Lambris to build my chicken houses. Just the cheap stuff from Brico Depot, if you have one. Solitaire, sorry for my tardy reply, been at work all day.
Spoke to the menuisier chappy today (bank holiday yesterday, and he doesnt really know what it is. Once I saw the piccy I understood, but I tried to explain it to him and he couldnt help. He uses bastang for all fencing etc, which isnt a help at all.
It wasnt a question of my French not being adequate (although it painfully isnt) as I had printed off your picture, and also drew several diagrams, he just doesnt know what the stuff is.
