Mr Sheds gets awful heartburn ... he swears by peppermint cordial and fizzy water.

Rennies aren't no good. He takes Ranitidine (Zantac) if it won't go away

      Sympathy lynda.

It's not very nice, but when I get the really awful sort where I think I'm having a heart attack, I take a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda in a glass of fairly warm water. It goes immediately, so I know it's not the heart attack this time!!

            try dandelion?

I quickly googled this, you may want to look into it a bit more: "Use herbs and spices that combat heartburn when cooking, such as garlic, ginger, dill, and caraway or fennel seeds. Teas like dandelion-root or chamomile may also help."

Try an infusion of mint or coriander as a hot cuppa.

(I think that's why they add coriander to so many spicy dishes).

Hi ya - 2 caps of Cider vinegar in a small tumbler of water. Just sip it down. Taste awful, but works a treat.

                  Fingers crossed.

You can't grow it, but Gaviscon is great. I used to carry a bottle around with me everywhere when I was pregnant with No.s 2 and 3 (not together). I got so used to it I woud just drink it from the bottle (startled the ladies in Boots one day!!)

Gripe water (given to babies) is just fennel and alcohol, but if you don't have fennel.......

Nooo, that can't work. Heartburn is too much acid - don't add more.

i thought they stopped putting the alcohol in gripe water when mine was little (unless it was just the types i used .... he never slept quite the same after

i cant stand gaviscon, i had that when i was pregnant, and it's the gloopy, hits the back of your throat and comes back up thing that kinda makes it really yucky.
