  • EU herbal ban.

    Hi all

Yes, me again on this subject. Google it and give me your thoughts please if you have time

Last time this came up it was the a misunderstanding, because the EU doesn't allow claims about what a herbal preparation can do without all the official testing. Unless there is something new, they can still be sold, just no medical claims!

      Hi
I saw a clip on the tv and they said that they had to go through tests to prove safe etc but many items may not be put through the tests due to costs.

I agree that it is silly for each and every manufacturer to have to test each and every product. Surely the herbalists can work together on testing 'single ingredient' products? If they did that it would be only the combinations that caused problems? Not sure how they can stop people using herbs that are also used for food (peppermint, sage......) which means the number removed from use is not going to be THAT great.
What about books (or TV programs) telling people how to grow/find the plants and make their own?????

being in a mishievous mood this morning I did in fact google "it". Apparently "It " is a 1986 horror novel by American author Stephen King.

Of course the initials IT refer to Information Technology whish is what enables us to enjoy this forum.

Anybody told you AP - you might be losing IT?

I'll take a look at this later this afternoon when I have more time, I'm interested in herbal remedies at the moment.

Codex Alimentarus is evil, it really will impact on everyone. Read up and educate yourselves

Its awful, they tried to ban garlic in canada (it hasnt passed yet thankfully!) Read up on Bill C-51 for info.

I now grow garlic, st johns wort and eccinacea (all herbal products I use for health reasons)

Its the pharmaceutical companies, they don't want people self medicating with cheaper herbal alternatives.
