  • earn extra cash ideas?

was wondering if anyone had any ideas about how to earn extra cash? both me and OH work full time but it still doesn't bring in enough.. we're looking for something we could do at home or a second job that would fit in around our work and home commitments

we've seen jobs advertised on t'internet but most of them require an initial outlay which is something i definitely won't do.. as far as i'm concerned someone pays me to do work not the other way round!

    anyone any ideas?

I made about £200 last month on eBay ... selling old clothes and clearing out the greenhouses etc.
I didn't get much for each item, but it all adds up

A good car boot sale helps, for a week!, more practically and long term - could you upgrade your skills with a view to changing jobs - or what can you do without? mobiles, sky, subscriptions - can you change mortgage/gas/electric - companies - internet package - you would be amazed at how you can cut back. Also, if you are struggling, phone your credit companies and see if they would accept a lower payment at the moment - worth a try?

What about posting for work on Gumtree? Like you I am looking to make a bit of extra money, due to a move I lost a couple of little earners (Fort William is a bit too remote?!) Worth a try (just keep contact via the private system don't give out email or tel no in advert)

I mystery shop. I'm never going to get rich from it and the online questionnaires can be a nightmare to fill in but it pays for the odd meal out and other luxury and I'm using my purchase allowances now to start buying Christmas gifts.

Avon or Betterware round? I did Avon when I had my son little and I earned a bit in the first 6 months then it dropped off. It's a good time with the run up to xmas. The only thing you have to buy is the little books. And it's not just cosmetics for old ladies now, there are toys, gifts, perfumes, lingerie etc. And it got me out and about meeting new people as we'd just moved.

yeah i thought about doing that but i always thought no-one ever bought anything.. perhaps i got that idea because we never bought anything ourselves

did you earn quite a bit in your extra time? you don't have to say the exact amount, just if it was enough to warrant the extra time and initial outlay

I use a mix of six scoops of compost three scoops of sand/grit and two scoops of perlite, the quantity is unimportant as long as the ratio is the same, if for seeds I use this mix, if I am potting on I add some blood, fish and bone, along with a small quantity of chicken manure pellets
