    Don't Forget to Recycle Your Tree

    I always recycle our Christmas trees by cutting off and shredding the branches to make a mulch for the lottie paths and cutting up the trunk for the fire.

    This year I'm trying to take it a step further by visiting the nieghbours and scrounging their trees. Have had some funny looks when Iv'e asked for their old Christmas trees but they have all been happy to let me take it (those that take trimmings down before twelfth night). Will try and get more after the 6th January.

    So far I have a couple of bags full of shreddings. Probably a bit to acidic to use as a mulch for the beds but they work brilliantly on the paths and smell nice into the bargain.
    It is the doom of man, that they forget.

    I recycled my tree before Chirstmas .............its an artificial one I got it on Freecycle :-)

      Don't have a tree lounge is only 12' square and with the furniture there is no room for a tree.
      We do recycle our cards though.
      The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

        Mine was already recycled, when i pruned a tree in the garden at the end of summer i kept the large branches, trimmed them up then put these in a big vase and covered them with lights and decs, it looked fab. I then used it as kindling this weekend when i took the decs down.
        When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. ~Author Unknown

          I mean to look out for a good sized and fascinating branch every year.....maybe you've just found me a New Years Resolution!;o
          I can't remember the name of it,but I can remember watching an old film years ago where they did that and it was so pretty and a touch romantic(in the non romantic kind of way)

            Mine will be used as started wood for the open fire. It doesn't half blaze once it's lit!!

              A lorry is coming to collect ours tomorrow, along with the rest on the roads nearby. The council have a green scheme of their own!

                It is, it looks wonderful and what ever you put on it stands out so beautifully. I love it. You should try it this year for definite.
