With it going dark it always seems later than it really is.

It's gone dark here a bit earlier than expected tonight because it was overcast. It caught 2 of the chickens out! They missed the boat with the automatic door closer. I always check on them (it comes into its own for opening in the morning really) and 2 of them ran up to me looking pathetic. I lifted the door and they popped themselves in. Bless!

Time to get the Jumpers out, too early for central heating according to he who must be obeyed.

I've not got any heating, but am wearing 2 jumpers and a scarf!
Heating due to be reconnected tomorrow when plumber comes.

I went to Barcelona last year at the end of Ocober (the week the clocks go back) and people were swimming in the sea and sunbathing - jealous - moi? NEVER!

(now where did i put my gloves?)

I've got a gas fire on but not the central heating - and I've put my winter SAD light on morning and evening to lighten up the gloom - the cats love it and push me out of the way to get themselves in front of it.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

I don't mind the early dark nights ( well until Spring when I want to get stuck into a gardening project)
It's the dark mornings which get to me...at the moment it's not properly light until 9am here...in the New Year it's still dark at 9am.....on the other hand it's lighter into the evenings then!

Now that our central heating is working I'm rather looking forward to a cold snap!

I agree, Nicos! It can be dark at six p.m. all year round for me as long as it is light at five a.m.!!
