  • Computer Problem with Outlook2007

Can any bright grapes help me out here, please? As ever when I have a seemingly intractable problem, I turn to the collective Vine Brain to help me out! Our techie is really good with the hardware side of things, but I need an Outlook whiz!

So here goes - bit technical, hope this is clear...

I have done a VERY DOPEY THING with regard to my Tasks in Outlook 2007 & pressed 'clear' against the little red flag - on all the tasks. I thought that this would just clear the flag, but - NO - it has cleared the whole task and put it I Know Not Where.

The tasks still exist (i.e. they are not deleted as such), as I can find them one by one if I search for them in the windows search toolbar BUT they are not displayed in any of the various view windows in the task manager, or on the to-do list.

NB When I do find one of my cleared tasks, and open it, the flag drop down option in the top tool bar has gone - but if I create a new task, it is there.

    Can anyone help me?

I bet that it's just a tick box or option that I haven't found - I've been through various searches, and the only thing I can find is 'if you clear the flag, the task will be removed from the tasks and the to-do list' but no clue as to how to reverse the process!

Have you tried looking on the left hand side which gives you all the categories and selecting 'Completed Tasks'?

I just did and it brought all my Tasks for ever back up (gosh I am a busy girl!)

If not, have you tried turning it off and on again

PS - if you can see them in that view, just click on the grey tick, it will make 'em jump back into order

Nope - not in any of the views - even in completed items

HANG ON - I'VE FOUND THEM!!!

Personal folders - deleted items - sorted on the icon, and all the tasks are there all together!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you

Note to self - check what happens when you press a button with ONE item, do not hilight the whole lot and then press an unknown button!!!

Damn - nor can I now!

What I did was to view the to-do list, highlight the list, rightclick on the flag, and there was a 'clear flag' option - which I now can't get to come up (just the various times, and mark complete, and set reminder)

Anyway, I don't recommend 'clear flag' unless you want to remove the item from the to-do/task list. It'll end up in your deleted file and you will run round for a couple of hours like a headless chicken.

              *deep breath

I'm going to put the kettle on now - would you like a cup of tea, Pisk?
