Little wonder there are so many bugs and germs about.

I went over to see them last Sunday.... Hive one had many bees flying about - alas Hive two was quiet with only a few buzzing about. Its fingers crossed now! Boxing day was awful....we went over to check Mr HF's woodpecker cages (put round hives to keep the beaked invaders out ) and saw so many dead bees on the snow (it really upset me) I tried not to go into panic mode as this may be normal after such a cold spell - it could have been that the little bee bodies were showing up so well on the white snow. Trouble is it was really sunny that day but at -4 it was also very cold, the snow makes it look even brighter to the bees and they break the cluster and come out for toilet trips, when they get out of the hive they simply perish in the cold.....a very sad Headfry.
I dread going over there this weekend.....big sigh. I really wish I could bring them indoors for the winter. My guess is that with the mild weather they will come out looking for food - none to be had yet, we need the Hellebores and crocus to flower !
      Thanks for asking Nicos

Both yesrterday and this afternoon i have been down the lottie working in my shirt sleeves.. It was also good to sit in the garden chair in the sunshine enjoying a respite from the cold and wet of the past 2 months. This time a month ago it was under 2 foot of snow and this time last year it was under 18inch of snow.. wow this global warming is great, aint it?

I had to take rugs off Horses today, as they were sweating up! I have taken off my coat whilst mucking out, for the last coupe of days too. Makes a nice change from having to wear so many layers, that I can't move!

I had all the windows open whilst on cross trainer and was in vest - last few weeks I've been in full outdoor sleeves and windows closed.

Tis lovely but not to be taken too lightly!

Dont mind the cold, or warm but constant rain is a pain! (Which we have at the moment)
