  • Cleaning the Brass Pans on a Weigh Scale

I want to bring both the weighing pan and the weights pan back to gleaming newness.

I've had the scales about 10 years and the pans have had a half hearted brasso-ing every now and again in that time, and the pans come up okay but not really great.

Is there a magic knack to this, or am I just lacking in elbow grease?

    Any tips most gratefully received!

I just put mine through the dishwasher I know you're not supposed to, but they do look lovely and shiny when they come out

      Right-o - I'll do that.

I didn't like to just bung 'em in to see what happened in case they went manky or something - but if you do, Sarz, that's good enough for me!

Vine power strikes again - question to solution in 4 minutes! Cheers, m'dear!

How are you putting the brasso on? Thin layer on a cloth, rub well into discoloured areas till it lifts, let it almost dry, buff off, then buff again with a clean cloth...

I used to have to clean all my mothers brass, god what a job, wish I'd thought of the dishwasher idea
