    Candy Letters....

Still have a 'thing' for candy letters now and Asda sell them three bags for £1.

Bag of those and a good book...great!

Also, I used to buy long sticks that looked like sweet cigarettes but were chocolate flavoured and longer...can't remember what they were called though. And coconut tobacco....and...and...

.....Oh so many........those were the days!

I loved those cheap chocolate buttons Woolworth's used to sell in the fifties. Haven't seen any for yonks; the super rich Cadbury's ones don't come anywhere near. Also licquorice bootlaces, sherbet dips and sweet cigarettes. Oh, and those huge gobstoppers that changed colour, and aniseed balls!

My Mum used to buy ovaltine chocolate. Hadn't had it for years but the lovely Scarey sent me some a while back after a similar thread to this, blast from the past! Had to force myself to share with the kids!!

Those nostalgia sweets are great, sent a huge box out to OH when he was serving in Iraq a couple of years ago, he thought they were so great that he sent a huge box to me and the kids!

Rhubarb and Custard or Strawberries and Cream boiled sweets. I also used to love American hardgums, I'd have a bag of these on Saturday afternoon, and my big brother would have Pontefract Cakes (little circles of licorice).

I used to like the licquorice pipe with the little red hundreds and thousands on the ends. I used to pretend I was smoking a pipe like my dad used to.
