  • cheap break needed, ideas please!

    HI all

We are hoping to have a 3 night break away, perhaps in Norfolk, Northunberland, Yorkshire....anywhere tbh!

But it needs to be cheap cheap cheap. We usually camp but due to weather fears, bad backs, old age and wanting to have have to pack a very small amount we thought we would see what ideas or links you all recommend. Dont mind a last minute thingy, cottage, caravan, lodge....anything really but preferably not camping this time around!

Just want miniamal luggage and stress! Mnimal pennies too!

Any magic wands out there! ;D

Try somewhere like the Green Man at Scamblesby for B&B, within easy travelling distance of Lincoln, Boston, Skegness, Mablethorpe, lots of nature and bird reserves (Far Ings at Barton and Whisby near Lincoln to name two) a quick trip over the bridge to the Deep in Hull. Then there is the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, Woodhall Spa, Horncastle and plenty more....

Have just had a weekend in Scarborough. B&B for £25 ppp night. Don't know if you class that as cheap or not.

I've been youth hostelling with the teens, and also staying in youth hostels when I have to go on seminars etc lately. There's loads of young people of course, but quite a few old fogeys as well. It's pretty cheap and usually clean, best part is that the kitchen is stocked with pots and pans etc, so you can cook your own food and save some money, and the 'toilet block' is inside, unlike camping!

Plenty of cheap and cheerful accommodation in Scarborough, Donna and good as a base for Yorkshire moors, Bridlington, Filey and Whitby. Robin Hood's Bay is lovely.

I know you don't want to camp, but weren't the sun doing pitches for £1. I'm sure I saw an ad on the telly.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.
