I am NOT an animal hater, really, I'm not! I would never even think of being delibarately cruel to an animal, but what do you do to stop cats sh.., er, pooing in yer garden? (I take it heaving half a housebrick is out?) I don't have cats, so why do the neighbours little darlings CRAP IN MY GARDEN????

Get chickens. Mine set up such a fuss when they see one that the little darling that was leaving messges on my garden path for weeks befor the chickens came doesn't bother any more!

You can't beat the smell of rotting cat poo after a shower of rain....................

I tried net over the beds but the brute that visits me didn't mind being tangled in it and just kept coming back. I now have netting around the beds, about 60cm high, and that seems to have put him off. You could also try upright sticks (but I don't like the idea if you've got kids, or in case you spike yourself. If these don't work there are cat repellers on the market. Some you sprinkle (I didn't find they made any difference) and other are either electric or battery operated and emit a frequency they don't like. Caution though, they can affect other animals too, so check before using.
A good beginning is half the work.
Praise the young and they will make progress.

Water pistol seems effective, when you are there, otherwise ... the repellents based on lion poo are supposed to be pretty good, other types I would be less confident of.
